Profile of K.R.S. Murthy

Murthy has enjoyed theater and volunteering ever since he could barely walk or talk. He has experience in acting many types of roles, costume design, make up, lighting, direction and production of simple as well as extensive productions. He has experimented in theater all his life.

He has lectured on theater and music in many parts of the world. He has done stand up comedy. He has composed, directed and sang in music groups, including music for dramas, and musical dramas.

He has acted and directed in village dramas and modern dramas in India. His work includes mythological, historical, musical, social, and neo-modern plays.

He has acted and directed in Maha Bharata (the great Indian mythological epic, and the longest and most ancient poetry in the world), Ramayana, Story of Buddha, Birth of Jesus Christ, and many other plays. He has done leading roles, supporting roles and special appearances in plays. He feels more at home on the stage and the green room, than in his own house. Some examples of dramas in Kannada are:

He has been writing poetry and other forms of literature since his childhood. He has developed some novel concepts in literature, which are also applicable and extendible to theater, movies and TV programs. Some examples include Twin Poems, Poem in a Poem, and Novel Communication Concepts (a rare interplay between interaction and indifference).

He has won numerous Rangoli competitions, and invented novel techniques and added creative dimensions to the traditional Indian art of "sacred" white stone powder design and display. He has also done Mehendi artwork body decoration in many international art fairs.

He has done some fundamental inventions in Indian Classical Music to include Raaga and Taala illusions. Murthy has developed / invented many new paradigms covering many areas including literature, theater, art, music and brainstorming.
He has taught theory (literature) and music part of Gamaka Vaachana courses for Master and Vidvath levels.
He has taught many courses in English and Kannada (a leading South Indian Language) literature, lectured on a variety of genres on the same stage and panel with many leading authors and professors of literature in India, including some who later on won Jnana Peeth (the highest award in literature in India) award, in his early teen years. He has done pioneering fundamental research and developed new paradigms in Indian classical music during his teen years.

He was fortunate to lecture sharing stage with highly respected and revered religious leaders and scholars such as Sri Chinmayananda, Sri Dayanada Saraswathi, Sri Pramukhswami Maharaj (Chief of BSS Group), and Sri Susheel Kumar Muni (Chief of Jain religion).

He, along with Prof. H. Narasimhiah, (Ex-Vice Chancellor of Bangalore University) was a founding committee member of the group, which exposed some religious leaders and "miracle makers" in 1970s.

Dr. Murthy is a corporate advisor to CEOs of some high technology companies in USA. He is a rare blend of corporate executive with accomplishments and expertise encompassing technology, business, finance, and corporate governance. He has advised many high technology companies in telecommunications, computers, Internet, e-commerce and IT in technology, on market positioning, business development, and product strategies. He has advised companies in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital development, private placement capital development, corporate business development, and marketing strategies.

He serves on the Board of Directors and Board of Advisors of many high technology companies in USA.

He was the Chief Technology Officer and Senior VP of Operations of PNS Communications Group. He also led the Corporate Strategy, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) of the company. He was an R&D executive, Chief Strategist, and Director in Bell Labs and AT&T. He was a USA Country Manager for AT&T business communications services. He was a General Manager / VP of General Electric, where he developed the first bandwidth compression technology for cable television. As an executive, he was also responsible for the deployment of many cable TV head end systems and cable set top converters in many parts of USA. He was a Professor of Electrical Engineering in California State University, Pomona and Fullerton.

As a founding member of the Indian satellite and space research programs, his pioneering work includes on-board systems and ground check systems for India's first three satellites. He developed scientific experiments and pre-launch ground checkout systems for NASA for the First Space Shuttle. He has also developed many defense communications systems for various government agencies in USA.

He has been featured in numerous print, radio and TV media around the world. He was the Program Chair of IEEE International Conference in India in 1989, and was instrumental in the success of the conference along with Mr. Sam Petroda. He has shared stage with Indian technology leaders like Prof. UR Rao, Mr. Sam Petroda, Prof. Thomas Kailath, Prof. CV Ramamoorthy and Mr. FC Kohli.

He has served on the Board of Governors and BOD of many IEEE societies, and received numerous awards. He has lectured, led delegation of world's leading technology experts and has been featured in the press, radio and TV in numerous countries of many continents of the world. He has been a keynote speaker for many international conferences in technology and management areas. He graduated from high school at the tender age of 12 and obtained two master degrees by the age of 20.
